The Stake Presidency has issued the following challenges in association with our stake youth conference this June. We are excited for the opportunity to spend time with the youth and look forward to watching their testimonies grow.
We recognize that not all of you are able to attend youth conference due to other obligations. We would invite you to also consider these challenges. While we will discuss them at conference they will be beneficial to your personal spiritual development even if you can’t be there.
We are excited for this summer and to hear your experiences!
- Before youth conference, identify five ancestors that need baptism in the temple.
- Print temple ordinance cards for those ancestors and bring them to youth conference so that you can perform ordinances for them in the Nauvoo Temple.
- Carefully study President Nelson’s talk “Make Time for the Lord”.
- After studying the talk, think and pray about the question: “What lack I yet?” (Matthew 19:20)
- What are the most important one or two things you could change or improve that would allow you to have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ?
- How can Jesus Christ give you the strength to make those changes?
- As a class/quorum/or mutual activity, watch the following video together and discuss lessons you learned from the message: Trials: Look to the Light
- Research the conversion story, experiences and testimony of a family member who converted to the Gospel.
- This could be a pioneer from church history, a grandparent, or even yourself if you are the first member of the Church in your family.
- Be prepared to share those stories and experiences.
