Each Ward will be responsible for tents/sleeping arrangements for the boys attending from their Ward.
The following is a general itinerary:
Thursday:
Afternoon – Arrive at Alley Springs Campground
Setup Camp
Emergency Buddy Carry Hike
Dinner
Capture The Flag
Friday:
Survival Fishing
Breakfast
Float Trip 10am
Lunch on the water
Return to camp about 3-4pm
Dinner
Testimony meeting
Saturday:
Breakfast
Packup and leave by 11am
Emergency Buddy Carry Hike:
4 groups of about 10 boys each
Team must build 2 stretchers and carry ‘injured’ team members approx 1.7 miles over terrain.
Materials will be provided.
This will be a time-trial ‘race’. Each team can do the hike as many times as they want to improve times until finish time.
Team with the best times get dinner treats and prizes for other activities.

Winning team from 3 rounds chooses from prize pool.
Survival Fishing:
NOTE: Boys are NOT to bring their own fishing gear.
Teams will use materials gained from previous activities.
Cooked fish may be traded for pancakes and eggs.
Packing List:
In addition to what you are wearing, pack in a hiking pack/large backpack/or duffel bag with YOUR NAME ON IT (write name on tape and tape to your bag):
1) Sun screen / bug spray.
2) Vitamin C / personal meds.
3) First Aid Kit (Bandaids, Neosporin, needle, gauze, tweezers, scissors, alcohol wipes, extra shoe laces).
4) Reusable water bottle.
5) 1 pair broken-in hiking boots or sturdy shoes. 1 sandals / water shoes (for river).
6) 3 underwear, 4 pairs long socks (change socks to keep feet dry/prevent blisters), Foot Powder (keep shoes dry and non-stink).
7) 1 pair pants. Be able to tuck in pant legs or tie off pant ankles with extra laces. (Tucked/tied off pants and light colored/long pant legs/sleeves protects against ticks or snakes.)
8) 1 long sleeve shirt (plain/light-colored or white, 1 short sleeve shirt (plain/light-colored or white).
9) OPTIONAL: extra camouflage shirt/pants/face paint (for Capture the Flag).
10) 1 wide-brimmed hat.
11) 1 light-colored / weighted PJs (sleep cool and dry).
12) 1 swim shorts / 1 swim shirt.
13) 1 pocket knife (multi-use or regular).
14) 1 compass / whistle.
15) Personal snacks (bars, nuts, dried fruit).
16) 1 hair brush / comb, 1 toothpaste, 1 toothbrush, 1 floss, 1 deodorant (1 stick DEODORANT, spray deodorant does not count), 1 small lotion, 1 toilet paper, 1 small mirror (for survival / personal care), 5 swabs.
17) Sleeping bag / pad.
18) Flashlight / penlight / or glow sticks.
19) Wrist watch.
20) Knot tying notes / printed resources (if unprepared).
21) SCRIPTURES, paper, 2 pens (for notes/journal).
22) Camp chair.
23) Small day backpack (to carry stuff on hike or river).
24) No phones. Give them to Ward YM Leaders (used only for emergency). There will be no cell signal anyways.
25) Pack your imagination, team commitment, creativity, and communication and problem solving skills.
Break in shoes/boots before camp. Exercise 3 days a week (push-ups/sit-ups, 2-mile jog), practice knots/making a stretcher, memorize scriptures.
